Help people understand, engage with and respond to the future of local government
LGR will affect services, staff, members, partners and communities across South East Essex. Clear, timely and well-targeted campaigns, supported by good insight, will be essential to maintaining confidence, supporting engagement and helping people understand what is changing, why it matters and how they can be involved.
As Campaigns and Insights Advisor — LGR, you will support the planning and delivery of communications, campaigns and engagement activity across the South East Essex LGR programme. You will work closely with programme leads, senior leaders, communications colleagues and partner councils to ensure activity is coordinated, evidence-led and aligned to the wider programme.
This role will be central to helping the programme understand its audiences, shape effective messages, and use insight to support meaningful internal and external engagement. You will help translate a complex programme into clear narratives, practical updates and targeted campaigns that support staff, members, partners and communities through change.
The scope and responsibility for this role goes far beyond issuing communications updates to internal and external stakeholders. It provides an exciting opportunity to use insight, evidence and strong campaign planning to build understanding, support collaboration across councils, and give staff, partners and stakeholders clarity and confidence in the journey ahead as we deliver LGR in South East Essex.
What makes this different
- A visible role supporting a once-in-a-generation programme.
- Opportunity to shape how South East Essex LGR is understood, engaged with and shaped by different audiences.
- Work across multiple councils, channels and stakeholder groups in a complex local and regional system
- A chance to use insight to support genuine engagement, not just communication.
You will bring
- Strong communications, campaigns or engagement experience.
- Ability to turn complex information into clear, accessible messages.
- Confidence using insight to understand audiences and shape activity.
- Experience supporting campaigns across different channels and audiences.
- A thoughtful, collaborative and politically aware approach.
