The Senior Campaigns Advisor for Best Start in Life will be an experienced campaigner and marketer who understands the pressure of a complex local government setting.
The Senior Campaigns Adviser for Best Start in Life will be required to support the successful delivery of Best Start in Life programme in Essex, ensuring every child starting school in Reception by 2028 is ready and able to learn. They will be involved in creating a robust Communications, Marketing and Engagement Strategy for the programme, defining action plans across multiple workstreams and will lead the delivery of activities. Working with organisation and system partners as well as parents and carers will be key.
You will work collaboratively with Communications and Marketing and Early Years and Childcare colleagues, as a member of the Best Start in Life working group. The role requires a strong communicator and someone skilled and experienced in using multichannel communications, engagement and marketing tactics in the delivery of campaigns, digital marketing, social media and PR. You will understand how to collaborate, working with stakeholders at every level and be comfortable navigating shifting priorities and complex work to deliver impact. You will additionally be adaptable and able to work in a fast-moving environment with an ability to stay calm under pressure.
The role requires an understanding of the importance of insights and data at every stage of planning, creation, amplification, engagement and evaluation.
About you
Educated to degree level or equivalent by experience.
Evidence of continuing professional development and expert knowledge in relevant professional area.
Evidence of strong project management skills and process with experience of multidisciplinary and cross-functional working.
Demonstrable experience of communications and marketing campaigns, ideally in a public sector environment.
An understanding of the agile way of working.
Experience of working in a political environment, skills in understanding and responding to different perspectives and taking a cross organisational perspective (desirable).
Proven experience in a Communications and Marketing advisory/consultancy role.
